Contractor's License
ALL contractors doing work in City Limits are required to license as a contractor with the City of Halstead.
License Fees
General Contractors: $100
Limited Contractors: $50
*** License Fees are prorated after July 1st.
Roofing Contractors
The Kansas Roofing Registration Act (KRRA) requires roofing contractors to register with the Kansas Attorney General's Office.

Solicitor's License
All door-to-door solicitors MUST be registered with the city.
To obtain a solicitor's License individuals MUST come into City Hall to Apply.
All applicants must provide a copy of their current, unexpired driver's license.
BACKGROUND CHECK IS REQUIRED!
Application must be filled out in entirety & payment for background checks is required for application be acted upon.
(Background checks can take up to 3 business days to complete)
License Fees
Background Check: $35 per person
Yearly License: $1000 per person
Daily License: $50 per person/per day
Solicitors MUST carry with them proof of registration.
If individuals have no proof of registration residents should call 9-1-1 to report the unlicensed solicitor!
5-302. LICENSE REQUIRED.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in any of the activities defined in the preceding sections of this article, within the corporate limits of the city without then having an unrevoked and unexpired license therefor in his or her possession and issued by the city clerk.
