The City of Halstead Industrial Park Speculative Building was built in 2024. This 3,600 sqft metal-on-steel frame building sits on a 1-acre lot and is zoned I-2 Heavy Industrial.

The Halstead Industrial Park is located on the west side of Halstead and is served by a city-owned rail spur that connects to the BNSF main line and the park has access to Halstead Road (HV County 801) with direct and convenient access to US HWY 50 to the north or K-96 to the south.  Halstead is proud of our local industries, such as Martin Machine and Welding, Ergon Asphalt, and Mill Creek Truss, that are located within the Halstead Industrial Park and are committed to working with good corporate citizens, small industries, or entrepreneurs looking to build their business and bring economic and job opportunities to the Halstead community.  The city is a funding partner and collaborates with Harvey County Economic Development (EDC) on marketing and coordinating economic development opportunities for the Halstead Industrial Park.

Utilities

All major utilities are available within the Halstead Industrial Park. The Evergy substation, which is located at the site, guarantees ample electricity for most any industrial requirements. The city-operated natural gas, water, and sewer utilities have established mains running through the park and can provides service to all lots as needed.  High-speed Fiber Optic internet services are also available to Industrial Park lots thanks to a city partnership with IdeaTek.  Other internet and communication options include Cox Communications, AT&T, and more.

Transportation Accessibility

Occupants of the Halstead Industrial Park may take advantage of excellent transportation accessibility such as:

  • The park is served by Industrial Road, a 37-foot wide concrete paved curb and gutter road, that runs through the Industrial Park to serve lots that do not have direct access to Halstead Rd or SW 36th/6th Street.

  • Halstead Road (Harvey County Road 801), which is adjacent to the Industrial Park on the east, provides access to US HWY 50, Interstate I-135, and K-96 as well as the larger cities of Newton, Hutchinson, McPherson, and Wichita within 30 minutes or less.

  • City-owned active rail spur that connects to BNSF main rail line serves the park.

The City of Halstead and our elected officials are open to development and always willing to discuss if a project is a good fit for the Halstead Industrial Park and our community.  In collaboration with our regional partners, the city is willing to look at multiple options or discuss what incentives would be correct or available from the smallest to the largest economic development projects.
