Reminder: Door-to-Door Solicitation Requires a Permit
The City of Halstead would like to remind all residents that ANY door-to-door sales or solicitation is strictly prohibited unless the individual/company has first obtained a solicitation permit from the City.
As part of the permit process, the City conducts a criminal background check and verifies the legitimacy of any roofing companies with the Kansas Attorney General’s Office.
If someone approaches your property for solicitation or sales purposes:
✅ You have the right to request to see their City-issued permit.
🚫 If they cannot provide valid documentation, please call 911 immediately so that a Halstead Police Officer can respond and inform the individual of the legal requirements.
Your cooperation helps us keep our community safe, ensures businesses operate within the law, and protects residents from potential scams and fraudulent activity.

❌ Violates City Code - it can result in fines.
🌊 Clogs Drains – Leads to street flooding during rain.
⚠️ Safety Hazard – Creates slippery conditions for motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
🌿 Pollutes Waterways – Washes into storm drains and harms local streams and rivers.
🚗 Causes Road Debris – Can be blown into traffic, causing visibility or traction issues.

The Halstead Pool went to the dogs yesterday—literally! Around 30 four-legged friends joined us for our annual Dog Swim, and they had an absolute blast chasing toys, making new friends, and cooling off in the water.
Thanks to all the pups (and their humans) who came out to make it such a tail-wagging good time! 🐶💙
