The Chisholm Trail Bike Ride will be passing through town the morning of Saturday, May 2nd! We’re expecting around 100 cyclists traveling through on Hertzler Rd, 36th St, and Halstead Rd.
This great event helps raise funds for ambulatory trikes for kids and adults, as well as bike safety equipment for children—supporting healthier, safer communities for everyone.
If you see riders out on the road, please use extra caution and help us give them a warm Halstead welcome!
The Newton Technical Rescue Team will be conducting training exercises near the levee on Friday morning. You may notice increased emergency vehicle presence and activity in the area during this time.
This is only a training exercise—there is no cause for concern.
Thank you for your understanding as our first responders continue preparing to keep our communities safe!
Get ready, Halstead! Trash and Recycle Pick-up is tomorrow - don't forget to roll out your carts to the curb by 6am Thursday!

Your support helps grow hands-on learning opportunities for students while beautifying your home or garden. Win-win! 🌼

We’re proud to share that the City of Halstead has been recognized as a Tree City for an incredible 48 years! This long-standing designation reflects our community’s commitment to planting, caring for, and celebrating trees that make our city a healthier and more beautiful place to live.
A special thank you goes out to our Parks & Recreation Director, Grant Williams, for his dedication and hard work in helping maintain and grow our community’s tree program.
Let’s continue to appreciate and protect the trees that enhance our parks, streets, and neighborhoods. 🌱

We were proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Halstead’s new Breastfeeding Benches! 💚👶
This meaningful project was made possible through a partnership between the City of Halstead and the Harvey County Breastfeeding Coalition, with funding provided by the Networked Community Solutions Grant.
The Breastfeeding Benches offer a welcoming and comfortable space for caregivers and is another step toward making our community more inclusive and family-friendly.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life and to those who joined us for the ribbon cutting—we’re excited to see this space serve our community for years to come! 🌳

This week, we’re proud to celebrate the projects that help make our community a better place to live, work, and play!
From enhancing navigation around town with our Wayfinding Signs Project 🪧 to promoting health and wellness through the KLCH Outdoor Fitness Equipment Project 💪, these improvements are all about creating a more connected, active, and vibrant community.
These projects are made possible through community development efforts that focus on building spaces for everyone to enjoy—now and into the future.
Take a look at the progress and see how these investments are making a difference right here at home!
