🚧 Traffic Advisory – 6th Street Restriping Today 🚧
Pavement restriping work is taking place on 6th Street today. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes to help reduce traffic delays and allow the work to be completed safely and efficiently.
Those who must travel through the area should use caution, watch for workers and equipment, and expect temporary traffic disruptions while the work is underway.

The City of Halstead is now accepting Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) from qualified consultants for the development of the City’s Safety Action Plan for Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Grant process.
Interested consultants are encouraged to review the RFQ and submit qualifications by:

***UPDATE*** Service is expected to be restored tomorrow sometime before noon. We will update this post as new information becomes available.
The City has shut off gas in the following area to repair a gas main.
-Between 4th-6th & Chestnut and Poplar.
We will push out an update as soon as service has been restored.

Please join us as we honor and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country this Memorial Day.
Volunteers are also needed to assist with placing and removing flags at the Halstead Cemetery:
Flag Placement — 6:00 AM
Flag Removal — 5:00 PM
Your help and participation are greatly appreciated as we come together to honor our veterans and fallen heroes.

LEAF & LIMB PICK-UP : MAY 26TH
All items must be curbside by 8AM and the following guidelines will apply:
◼ Leaves & grass clippings must be in plastic bags
◼ Limbs must be cut 14' or less in length
◼ Items must be easily accessible

Police Chief Orem and Fire/EMS Chief Lowe participated in a National Weather Service meeting. Timing for severe weather today is anticipated for 6 to 10 pm today. Primary threats could be baseball size hail, 70+ mph winds, a few strong tornados are possible. The City of Halstead storm shelter located at the Kansas Learning Center will be open.
The City Council packets for the Wednesday, May 20th meeting will not be available this evening. The packets will be posted on the City’s website by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18th.
